“My finger strength, mobility and general climbing abilities have improved, and that’s all thanks to the well-crafted training plan! The training has made me into a much more confident, dynamic climber and has made me feel like I can achieve so much more!"

Neil’s coaching style is to make training feel simple, intuitive and FUN. His methods are highly effective and he is renowned for being a stickler for training safety. Neil field-tests all his methodology on the coal-face of hard climbing and draws on the most up-to-date science and research. He also uses a data-driven benchmarking system to influence his hangboarding routines. Neil is the training correspondent for Climbing magazine in the USA, Klettern in Germany and UKC.com.

Neil has been at the cutting edge of the British climbing scene for over two decades, performing at a high standard in disciplines ranging from sport climbing to deep water soloing, winter and traditional climbing. Neil’s long list of hard first ascents around the globe are documented here in his new routes log. His 2012 Pembroke route Olympiad, remains the hardest Deep Water Solo in Britain. In his late 40s and as a father of two, Neil climbed the hardest trad route of his career, Final Score E10 7a in the Lake District and also the two hardest sport routes with first ascents of Sabotage 8c+ at Malham and Freakshow 8c at Kilnsey. Neil puts it all down to motivation and making every second of his training count.
